I’m trying to get back into doing Calligraphy more often. I used an old nib with a different ink and it blobs too easily. Ugh. Dr. Ph Martin’s Bleedproof white to the rescue! Also, messing around with watercolor.

Calligraphy on a cup!

These photos show the steps I used to create this cup for my ‘secret pal’ in my Guild. I used Sharpie oil based pens in primary colors to stipple around the letters and inside the image of the pen. After it dried I carefully removed the paper and then baked the cup at 350 for 30-45 min.

Wedding Book

Bemba

From my daughter’s wedding book. She used these names on the tables to tie in some of her husband’s culture. Bemba is the largest tribal language spoken in Zambia where my son-in-law is from.  She wanted me to letter some of the pages in her wedding book with different parts from the wedding ceremony and reception.

Calligraphy Wedding Envelopes

Smyth wedding

My latest calligraphy job. Lettering done in Spencerian Ladies Hand with Sumi ink, a Nikko G nib and a Yoke Pen Co. pen holder.

Erin & Ryan’s wedding invite

Erin Invite

I worked with my niece and her fiance for just the look they wanted for their invitation. I printed them and then cut them individually in order to preserve the look of the names running off the edge of the invitation.

For my niece’s wedding

BLOGThis is silver ink on a navy-blue envelope. I lettered it in a Spencerian ladies hand typestyle.
